For an exciting new viewpoint of Seattle’s Waterfront, take a ride on the Seattle Great Wheel. At 175-feet tall, the Great Wheel is one of North America’s largest Ferris wheels. The 15-minute ride will give you spectacular views of downtown Seattle, Elliott Bay, west Seattle, and surrounding areas. And with 42 climate-controlled gondolas, you can see Seattle from this Seattle Downtown attractions ‘ point-of-view any time of year.

You can also gaze back at the city from the water when you set sail on one of the waterfront’s numerous charter boating opportunities. Washington State Ferries will take you to Bremerton or Bainbridge Island, while Argosy Cruises explore the shoreline of Elliott Bay with narrated sight-seeing cruises.

Learn

Visit the Seattle Aquarium at Pier 59 to see and learn about all sorts of sea creatures. Meet the aquarium’s sea mammals or octopus during daily feedings and listen as staff describes the life and habits of these amazing animals. The aquarium offers numerous special programs, as well as Toddler Time, with a myriad of developmentally appropriate hands-on activities, and Story Time on weekends. Open daily from 9:30 to 5pm, the Seattle Aquarium is a must-see family experience while you’re here.
