The Lost Pelican New to our Belltown Court Building

A new restaurant has moved into the Belltown Court bulding, next to our favorite bakery, Macrina.  It is a southern place, really a New Orleans place, called The Lost Pelican

It first came to our attention for its excellent happy hour, which runs from 3-7pm daily.  We then noticed, when arriving in the morning, the EXCELLENT smells emiting from the space as they do their prep work in the morning.

We’ve now had the opportunity to sample a couple of items on the menu, and we are happy to recommend this new place in the Belltown neighborhood, but don’t take our word for it, they just got a very favorable write-up by the Seattle Times restaurant critic.

Lost Pelican at Seattle Oasis Vacation RentalsI found the gumbo to be very good, and most likely the source of the lovely smells in the morning.  Spicy, without being overpowering.  The BBQ Shrimp was equally yummy, enough so that you wish you could pick up the plate and lick it.

The happy hour menu is very reasonably priced, full of small plates for about $5, so you can nosh and sample fairly cheaply.  I will second the opinion of the Times’ reviewer and recommend the crawfish pasta.  Just very tasty!

My only dig to this establishment, and reason for not stopping by more often, is that is 21 and over.  For many however, that will be a plus, and for our guests without the kiddos, I highly recommend it!
