Make the Most of your Vacation Rental Home’s Gourmet Kitchen by Visiting Seattle’s Farmer’s Markets

One of the best things about a vacation rental home is having a full kitchen to play in. Seattle is famous for its locally sourced produce and fresh fish. They have a multitude of local markets and many are open year-round. So take a stroll with your reusable grocery bags, find some foodie inspiration, and get cooking!

Pike Place Market
1st Avenue and Pike Street
Famous for a reason, there’s even an entire business philosophy wrapped around the iconic Pike Place Fish Market. More importantly though, it’s the city’s center for fresh, local produce, foods, and fish. Pike Place Market was established in 1097 and is open 19.5 hours a day, 363 days a year. You can take a cooking class, a tour, or merely eat, stroll, and shop. Locals suggest you get to the market before noon and in peak summer months, weekday mornings are best.

More than a farmer’s market, Pike Place Market is a tourist destination. It’s one of the country’s oldest farmer’s markets and encompasses nine acres. Explore the historic arcade, winding alleys, and lower levels to get a multi-sensory experience. Wander around and get lost in the happy bustle or check out a handy map to ensure you don’t miss a thing.

Here you’ll find mushrooms, unusual berries, and a wide variety of greens.

While these markets are open year-round, not every vendor will have a full complement of goods. That’s what you love about a farmer’s market – ultra fresh, seasonal finds to spice up your cooking.
