Hourglass Escapes

Do you love all types of games and puzzles? Want to be part of a real-life one? Make a date with Hourglass Escapes and go beyond traditional escape-room fare to an immersive puzzle-solving experience! It’s fun for dates, groups of friends, and families, and it’s a perfect activity for a rainy day.

Choose Your Adventure

At Hourglass Escapes, you can decide which immersive puzzle-solving story to experience. They currently have two stories available, with Evil Dead 2™ Escape Room arriving in summer 2019. You’ll feel like you’re in a real-life adventure movie, with props, an in-character gamemaster guiding the puzzle challenges, and a thorough storyline. Feel free to come in costume if you like!

In “Rise of the Mad Pharaoh,” be prepared for an archaeological adventure as you solve clues to try and save the trapped Dr. Carter. Otherwise, book a trip on “The Ghostly Galleon,” and try to unravel the mystery of the Banshee Buccaneer. Though costumes aren’t required, you may as well get into character and dress up for the occasion for a more immersive experience!

Crafted by master storytellers, prop makers, movie magicians, and game obsessives, Hourglass Escapes are so much more than just an escape room. You’ll know immediately that these puzzles were put together with the greatest of care, and you’ll enjoy every moment you’re inside them!

The Details

Your group will have sixty minutes to try and win the game, and afterward you’ll be debriefed and given a hands-on walk-through. If you have a larger group, or only want to play with your friends, it’s best to book all the tickets for the game so you have the whole room to yourselves. Though these story-puzzles can be tons of fun for tweens and teens, in general, game play is for ages 12 and up (with accompanying adult). For children ages 10-12, please call in advance. The games might be too intense and scary for younger children (ghost pirates and all!).

Located on Western Avenue near Olympic Sculpture Park, Hourglass Escapes is convenient to downtown and tons of other attractions. It’ll be easy to fit this amazing, surprising hour into your vacation day, and still have time for plenty of other sights. Make a day of it with a walk along the Elliott Bay Trail, and lunch (and beer) at the nearby Queen Anne Beer Hall. Or visit in the evening after a day of exploring Seattle Center. Get ready for an exciting escape!
