Halloween Festivities in Seattle

All Hallows Eve is approaching and the festivities in Seattle for this spooky day are about to begin. From October 1 all throughout the month Seattle hosts a variety of entertaining festivals that are perfect for the whole family.

While Halloween is traditionally a night for kids, there’s plenty of events for those looking to hide from candy craving ghoulies. From a mind wracking zombie escape, to haunted houses, to beer festivals, Seattle knows how to get into the Halloween spirit.

Family Fun Activities
Taking the kiddos out and about during the Halloween season is fun for everyone. Many places that host Halloween themed activities are not scary. Here’s a small list of fall and Halloween festivals for the whole family.

run scared 5kHalloween on a Farm: this fun experience lets you pick your favorite pumpkin from the pumpkin patch, take a hayride, and navigate your way through corn mazes. These farms are open October 1 through 31 and are located throughout all counties in Washington.

Children’s Festival: Featuring performances, workshops, music, and Halloween activities, the Seattle Children’s Festival helps to promote cross-cultural understanding while having fun. Free to the public, opens October 11.

Run Scared 5k: Benefiting the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Run Scared 5k is hosting its sixth annual run on Halloween day. Starting at 10:00 am in Seattle’s Seward Park, the Run Scared 5k celebrates Halloween with a fully supported course, free event photos, and post-race treats included pumpkin bread and a candy corn tasting bar. A 4k walk and free kids dash is included providing multiple and spooky fun ways to benefit a great cause.

Adult Activities
Adults need a bit of fun on Halloween as well. Thankfully, Seattle hosts a variety of adult themed excursions that are sure to have you screaming with joy….or maybe just fear.

Zombie Escape: Gather a party of 12 and prepare to be trapped in a room with a zombie. This heart-racing experience gives you one hour to solve clues and attempt to escape a zombie on a chain. Schedule a time and see how fast your clue solving skills really are. Discount tickets start at $19. This event runs October 2 through 25.

Seattle Haunted House: Go alone or with a group, the Seattle Haunted House is sure to scare. Be aware, the sound within this haunted house is too intense for children under 12 years of age. View the schedule to see when the house is open. It runs October 2 to November 1.

Beer Festivals: Multiple beer tasting and festivals take place in Seattle during October. Here are a few links to find a festival during your stay: Brew at the Zoo, Anacortes Oktoberfest, Snohomish Beer Festival, and Puyallup Oktoberfest.
