Elevated Dining – Downtown Seattle Restaurants with Lofts

Each Seattle restaurant is designed to elicit a specific look and feel while providing you with a remarkable dining experience. These two downtown restaurants have taken it to the next level, literally, by offering diners loft seating with a view.

600 Union Street
Loulay is a soaring, lushly appointed restaurant located on a prime corner of downtown Seattle and is open seven days a week. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served Monday through Friday with a bistro menu and brunch on the weekend.

Loulay offers a modern twist on traditional French cuisine and provides an accessible dining experience for everyone. Owner/Chef in the Hat, Thierry Rautureau is a French native and renowned chef who always wears his signature fedora and has been part of Seattle’s restaurant scene since 1987. His menu highlights the freshness of local and seasonal ingredients.

Loft seating is open on weekend nights and provides diners with a wonderful view of the restaurant. The loft creates an intimate setting getting you away from the active environment of downstairs. You may even get an inspiring view of the chefs creating their delicious dishes in the kitchen from your loft seating.

Andra Loft
2000 4th Avenue, 2nd floor
The Scandinavian-themed bar, Andra Loft, is tucked into the second floor of the uber chic Hotel Andra. It provides delicious bites from around the globe, heady cocktails, and room for 70 people. This full-fledged bar elicits your taste buds with exquisite plates of Scandinavian small meatballs, cured fish, gravlax, and venison. It also offers a modern take on Mediterranean and North African dishes plus a Swedish classic, Aquavit.

The mezzanine loft seats you above the hotel’s reception area in salon chairs designed by Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto. Its design includes a bar set up as a counter with a queue rail in front, a welcoming fireplace, and lounge-worthy couches. The loft is meant to be an extension of Hotel Andra’s common spaces and is open to guests 24 hours a day. The bar is open daily from 4pm to 9pm.

Being closer to the ceiling while dining creates a more intimate setting and lets the buzzy restaurant noises drift away. Your lofty vantage point over the rest of the space gives you a bird’s-eye view that lets you feel you’re part of, yet slightly removed, from the hustle and bustle of the action below.
