CenturyLink Field

Seattle is a versatile city that’s built on natural beauty, urban excitement and seemingly endless possibilities for entertainment. It’s no wonder that travelers make their way to this pristine destination in the Pacific Northwest for opportunities to be a part of it all. While Seattle boasts some of the most spectacular natural and manmade skylines around, it’s often the sports and music scenes that bring fans and visitors in large numbers. Perhaps no place is as notorious for offering up some of the most exciting sporting and entertainment option in the city as CenturyLink Field. Located at 800 Occidental Avenue South, CenturyLink Field has long been a premier destination for team sports and musical performances that capture the minds and imaginations of guests.

A History of Greatness

The story of CenturyLink Field began in 1996 when Paul G. Allen purchased the Seattle Seahawks and began a relentless campaign to provide a stadium worthy of the team’s athletic goals. In the end, his campaign proved successful and CenturyLink Stadium opened to the public in 2002. Originally named Qwest Field, a movement to rename it CenturyLink Field passed in 2011 and has remained in place ever since. Today, CenturyLink Field is highly-regarded as the home of the Seahawks but does, in fact, host an impressive lineup of international, collegiate and Major League Soccer teams and events as well. It is regularly transformed into a musical arena and welcomes some of the most well-known and internationally recognized artists to Seattle for performances and concerts.

Seattle’s Most Impressive Field

CenturyLink Field was built with a vast vision in mind which was made a reality with dimensions that include 68,740 seats. Special events held at the stadium see that number expand by 5,000 additional seats. Guests entering the stadium with special needs or disabilities will find 1,400 seats reserved especially for them to make this an all-inclusive stadium experience. CenturyLink Field has earned a reputation as a comfortable place to take in a game or show with nearly 70% of seating spaces covered. A multitude of restrooms, concessions, and elevators make this a top-of-the-line establishment that keeps convenience a priority for visitors. CenturyLink Field also incorporates over $2 million worth of art, making it a living gallery as well. If you’re in Seattle but not planning on attending a game or concert, consider booking a group or private tour of the stadium alongside a knowledgeable guide. Tours last approximately 1.5-hours and tickets can be reserved and picked up at the box office.
