For a light-filled holiday celebration, visit the Woodland Park Zoo for their annual WildLights exhibit. Known as Seattle’s wildest holiday lights festival the event features faux snowball fights, up-close encounters with zoo animals, hot chocolate, and a spectacular light show.

Walk around the zoo and enjoy its more than 700,000 LED lights that recreate wild animals and their habitats in 2D and 3D displays. While many of the zoo’s animals will be getting ready to sleep for the night, there will be several indoor exhibitions open at the zoo that add to the list of many Seattle nature attractions. Visit the Adaptations Building, which is home to many of the zoo’s nocturnal animals, including sloths and fruit bats.

If you are 21 years of age or older, you can enjoy a selection of mulled wine, beer, wine, and spiced hot-cider while cozying up around a covered space with fire pits. Guests of all ages can enjoy several hot food options, including chowder and pizza along with hot chocolate and fresh, hot donuts.

The WildLights display is up from November 23 – January 5 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. It is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Tickets cost $14.95 for adults and $11.95 for children. Parking in the parking lot is free.
