Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market is known as the “Soul of Seattle”, and for good reason. Started in August 1907, this is America’s premier farmer’s market! However, this is no ordinary farmer’s market! Located on 9 acres of land, The Market features over 200 commercial businesses, 190 craftspeople, and over 100 farmers that rents space by the day. Street performers are there daily to entertain the masses that flock to The Market. If you are staying with Urban Oasis, then this is a must-see! With approximately 10 million visitors a year, this is one of Washington state’s most visited destinations.

Seattle Waterfront

Comprising the area from Pier 56, (Madison Street at the South end) to Piers 62 & 63 (roughly Pike Street on the North end) on Alaskan Way, this park is lined with lamps, benches, and high, curving railings. From either of two pink metal viewing platforms, reached both by stairs and a wheelchair-accessible ramp, you can enjoy excellent views of the city skyline, the waterfront, the ships in drydock, container cranes, the West Seattle Bridge, Magnolia Bluff, Blake Island, Bainbridge, and, on a clear day, the Olympic Mountains. Occasionally you may even see a seal. Four coin-operated telescopes on the sidewalk offer view assistance.

There are many attractions on the Waterfront, including the Seattle Aquarium, Ye Olde Curiosity Shop, The Great Seattle Wheel, Miner’s Landing and tons of dining and shopping.
