To be clear, this building does NOT have air conditioning (almost NO buildings-less than 5%- in Seattle have central air conditioning). Also, be aware that this is a urban environment. In any urban core, you can expect to hear street noise, often late into the evening. If a silent outdoor environment is important to you, downtown Seattle (or any big city for that matter) may not be the best place for you to stay. That being said, this unit in the heart of Seattle--walkable to all the best Seattle has to offer-- and has high quality, noise muffling windows and heavy duty construction. Any questions about this, ask! We want our guests to be happy.
Nice to have a kitchen, a little too noisy because of a fire station nearby.
The only thing we can say is the place was clean. The rest was a night mare. When we called we were very explicied about what we wanted . In fact we talked two different times to them about it. We first wanted a two bedroom, not a closest. The place was so small you couldn't even turn around in it. It didn't have real doors on the bathroom so there was no privacy. It was not a safe area. The police were out side of our windows 4 of the seven nights we were There. We also told them we needed it by a certain hospital and it was no place close to it. When we called to complain we were told we did not ask for a two bedroom and to have one was $500 more for the week and we would have to move to a different area even further away from the hospital. If you rent from them be very careful they out and out lied to us. We have traveled all over the world and rented from Vrbo and not once had any thing happen like this one. I would never suggest anyone to rent from this company.
The apartment was incredible. It was perfectly located for a phenomenal trip to Seattle. Close to everything. We could walk just about everywhere. I never wanted to leave, and felt homesick when I got back to Southern California. I will definitely be moving up to Seattle in the near future because my stay was so wonderful.
The Seattle Oasis rental was great for my vacation. It's centrally located in downtown Seattle, close walking distance to Space Needle and Pike Place Market. It was a beautiful apartment fully equipped for a home away from home. We got to save some money by staying in and cooking at home, yet still had enough outings and excursions to experience Seattle. The only complains I have were the airflow of the apartment, and noise from main street. We got lucky with a sunny week in Seattle, but the apartment is so well insulated (for rainy cold winters) that the warm fall days were too hot for the apartment. Leaving the fans running and window open could not cool down the place, and in doing so the noise from the street (bus lines) was too loud. My overall stay and experience was great. Would choose Seattle Oasis again but would choose a different apartment not facing the main street. Thank you~
This was a very convenient place to stay because we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The condo was very clean, and well stocked with everything we needed. Bed and sheets in bedroom were very comfortable. Fold out couch in living area not so comfortable. Although we had very pleasant weather while in Seattle there was no airflow in the condo - even with the fans going and windows open it was still hot. The noise level with the windows open was really loud - buses pulling up outside all the time, people yelling and screaming until 3:00 a.m. one night. The convenience of being so close to walk to everything was what we were looking for so it worked out well for us.
First time in Seattle and the Oasis rental company was extremely helpful with lots of info and ideas to explore! The condo is kept clean and the building had a wonderful rooftop hangout! A parking space was key! We were in Seattle at the peak of summer and wish there was air conditioning. I would stay again since everything worked out so smoothly on this fun vacation.
Thanks for staying with us, we are so glad you are happy, and had a great time on your vacation! We do pride ourselves in offering free parking for our guests, which hotels and even other vacation rentals often charge $20-$40 a night for! Seattle's summertime average temperature is only in the mid 70s and because of this only 2 buildings in all of downtown Seattle have central air since it is so rarely needed. We provide lots of fans, and the the hottest part of the day isn't until 4-5pm by which time the sun is low on the horizon and the cool breezes off the water usually aren't far behind. Let us know next time you come back, we do have multiple properties, some that do have A/C in the summer months so if that is important to your stay, let us know and if available will have you stay in one of those units! This 1 bedroom unit is small, but nice! All amenities except air conditioning. The reason I mention this is because we arrived in Seattle during the heat of the summer. The unit is on the third floor facing Third avenue. It became unbearably hot. The fans provided by the owner did not help the situation very much. When opening the sliding door and the window in the evening, the street noise from cars, busses, and people prevented us from having a good night's sleep. The location of the unit is good, but a little shaky at night. The free bus service is close by and you can walk to many top tourist spots. The owners provided a very fine guidebook that we used on a continuing basis as this was our first trip to Seattle.
We are glad you enjoyed our amazing location in the heart of Downtown Seattle. This building, like most in Seattle (there are only 2) does not have central Air conditioning. The reason for this, the average high temperatures during the summer are only in the mid 70s. Last summer for example we only had a handful of days that even reached 80 all summer long. We are in the heart of Downtown Seattle, so there are people of all walks of life in the neighborhood. There are multimillion dollar condos, as well as shelters for those who are less fortunate, and everything in between in Downtown Seattle. The city is safe, especially when exercising common sense of staying on well lit streets, vs dark alleys, etc. Belltown is a vibrant neighborhood with lots of night life so even at night there are lots people walking to area restaurants, shops, etc. We are glad you found our guidebook useful, we have one in each of our condos with our favorite places to eat, touri
We were very pleased and thrilled that they were able to accomodate us on short notice. Communication was excellent and they were very kind to let us leave our luggage there while we took a day trip before checking out.
This place had a lot of conveniences: kitchen, laundry, lots of stuff in walking distance, and near-by bus stops (buses are free downtown!). I used the workout room, but most of the equipment was in poor repair. The treadmill was decent, though. The aC units did a so-so job keeping it cool. The traffic noise from the street was louder than we were used to, so cooling down by opening up the windows wasn't that pleasant.
Great unit, great location, but found it hard to cool down when it got warm. Fans helped, but opening windows only let in busy street noise. If staying again, would prefer back of complex.
The service from the Seattle Oasis Vacation Rentals was superb. They had all the details covered. The unit came with an extensive guide that listed features of the unit, places to go and things to do. The unit was beautifully furnished. The location was easy walking distance to most downtown Seattle attractions, many fine restaurants, shopping and clubs. The city bus stop was right outside the building. Parking was provided and it made life easy for having a rental car, although you could get away without a car if you wanted to stay in the city. Our only issue was was no air Conditioning. The windows faced Southwest and the outside temperature was in the 80's during our stay. The unit got uncomfortably warm in the afternoon. Opening windows and using fans helped with the heat. However, the noise from the buses and street traffic was extremely loud. It was the only problem in an otherwise perfect stay.
The staff is very nice and accommodating. The building is clean and kind of cool. The street itself doesn't seem like the nicest street, as there are several homeless/drug mission programs in the proximity, but literally one block away is the heart of cute Belltown. We never felt unsafe or anything like that. The space needle is only a couple of blocks away; walking distance to Pike Place Market (again, walk down 2nd street instead of 3rd street to get there). The kitchen is well-appointed and the bed is comfy.
The reason we rated the ease of checkin as only average is because it took several tries to reach the person responsible for opening the door. When we did I kept asking him what our condo no. was , he only answered that it was in my information. Had I had that I wold have known. The reason we rated the confort as only average is because we were on a busy street and could not open the windows for the noise. It was very hot when we arrived and there was no air conditioning. The condo was very clean and had every amenity you could ask for. I would stay there again but not in the, hottest months. Overall, very nice, thankyou
This location is a fantastic place to stay in Seattle.
On our most recent trip to Seattle, my boyfriend decided to rent a condo instead of stay at a hotel. I had never done this before, so I thought it would be a cool experience. We eventually want to move to the Seattle area, so we figured this would be a sneak peak. I was quite impressed with the condo. I was impressed with the upgrades and wood floors. It was nice to have everything -- kitchen with all the basic appliances, bathroom, washer/dryer, underground parking space -- while on vacation. It was very clean and inviting. I really felt more like I was at home than on vacation. There was also a little balcony with some chairs. From this condo, we were able to walk to Pike Place Market. We enjoy walking, so it may seem a bit far for some. There are a few bus stops nearby, too, if you need to go somewhere further away. It was definitely a great experience and I hope to return in the near future!
The check in and out was easy, the location convenient for our college campus visits as well as to visit attractions such as Space Needle and Pikes Marketplace. Our favorite: the robes! Our least favorite: hearing next door open and shut their door. The furnishings are all in good taste and if there's anything we would change, we would eliminate some of the decorative pillows in the living room. Also, the wireless internet did not work but the internet line worked fine. Our stay was too short to enjoy the amenities and next time we'll be sure to check out the view from the roof. Seattle Oasis met all of our expectations to have a home away from home for 3 days and 2 nights.
Enjoyed unit and its features however area is a bit rough with a number of street people around.
I'm glad you enjoyed our place! One of the drawbacks of being in the heart of downtown Seattle within walking distance of all the sights and activities, is that this is also within walking distance of the services such as shelters, community centers, etc that service our community. While Seattle has its share of homeless people due to our temperate climate, Downtown Seattle is very safe. Our places are located in Belltown, the densest neighborhood in Seattle with condos everywhere you look. Because of this there are lots of pedestrians at nearly all times of day, making the area safe. That being said like all urban environments being smart is always a good idea, such as not leaving valuables in cars in plain sight, not walking down dark alleys at all hours of the night, etc. While we have never had an issue, we always recommend common sense! We have had more than 2000 guests stay with us over the past 4 years and most gladly accept and enjoy our wonderfu
Great location. Easy walking distance to the Market, shopping, and the Space Needle. Nice layout organized and functional use of space Highly recommend this location.
I'm glad you enjoyed your stay! We love being a 5-10 minute walk to nearly everything. We do work hard to organize our spaces well, and stock them with everything a guest might need so all they need to do is bring themselves and their sense of adventure for a new city. Let us know next time you come back, happy to host again. Darik Eaton Seattle Oasis Vacation Rentals
The condo was centrally located to all the major sites. There are many good restaurants nearby. I agree with an earlier review about the cleanliness of the building. Kinda felt like we were staying in a dorm with lots of twenty-somethings. There is a homeless shelter across the street but it really wasn't a problem although the street scene can be a bit sad. Still, no one bothered us. The condo itself was just fine for the two of us but I think it would be too crowded for more than two people. The condo was clean and neat. It was just as described in the ad. The condo is located on a noisy street but we had brought earplugs and we used them. The bed was extremely comfortable, which was so nice after a long day of walking. Great wi-fi access, which we used often. We had brought a Netflix DVD with us but there was no DVD player. Still, this was an overall better value than a hotel room which would have been much more expensive.
Pros: It's a condo and not a hotel room Clean condo and nice kitchen Close to waterfront, Pike St. Market, Seattle Center and bus stops alot of restaurants & bars in area Washer/Dryer & laundry soap in unit Shampoo, conditioner, shower wash, soap, body lotion provided Olive oil, spices and other kitchen ingredents provided Parking spot provided Nice roof top patio Free Wifi internet Cons: Sliding doors on bathroom and bedroom are flimsy and do not allow alot of privacy Living area cannot be used if fold out bed from couch is being used. Fold out bed not comfortable If warm and you open windows unit is right in front of bus stop which is very noisy, you would not be able to sleep if you were a light sleeper Only one roof top grill works and no view apartment bldg general areas do not seem well maintained, dirty on week-end alot of homeless in area, which makes the area a little scary after dark This unit worked for us but we would not rent again because of the cons but this unit might be ok for you
Thanks for your comments. We do advertise and in our copy for our emails, etc mention that this is an efficient one bedroom. Most if not all one bedroom vacation rental condos have living rooms that are mostly used up by the area of the sleeper sofa. They aren't intended to be lived in with the sleeper sofa open as square footage in downtown comes at an extreme premium. For this reason this is our least expensive one bedroom which is priced very similarly (or a lot less) than you would find hotel rooms which tend to be 50% smaller at 300 square feet. If wanting more room, and more privacy, check out our other one bedroom properties, however they are more expensive due to their size. In regards to the general condition of the building, unfortunately your stay coincided with the last few days of the management company that handled the overall interior and exterior maintenance. Under the new management there has been a drastic improvement in many facets. There are curr
We had a wonderful experience at Urban Oasis. It was very accessible to everywhere we wanted to go. We could either walk or take the free bus. Only once did we need to use a cab. The condo was well stocked with any supplies we might need. Many very good restaurants in the area. If we needed anything or had any questions, Darik was just a phone call away. The only downside was the unit was a little smaller than we had imagined, but that really was not that much of a problem. We would go back there if we were to return to Seattle.
