‘Tis the season for festivities that light up the Emerald City with holiday cheer. There are so many things to do with the whole family and Seattle has the kind of variety that makes Christmas time extra special.
Everyone loves the decorative beauty of a festive Christmas tree. The Festival of Trees events celebrate the Colors of Autism at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Starting in November, 21 designer trees will be on display for all to view in the hotel lobby. Check out the trees at any time and find out how you can help support this charitable cause. Events include the Festival of Trees, a Colors of Autism Gala Dinner, Teddy Bear Suite, and Tree Raffle.
Friends and family will love to get into the holiday spirit by visiting the Issaquah Reindeer Festival at the Cougar Mountain Zoo. This holiday festival puts you right into the world of Santa Clause. You can meet the jolly old man in the big red suit and get a picture with him too. Visitors can also spend some quality time getting to know Santa’s reindeer team, visit Santa’s busy post office, hear stories from an elf, play with cute Christmas kittens, get festively face-painted, feed treats to animals and much more!
For a change of scenery, enjoy the enchantment and spectacle of the Pacific Northwest Ballet’s world-famous Nutcracker as it takes to the stage one last time before its retirement to the archives. PNB Founding Artistic Director and choreographer Kent Stowell and renowned children's book author and illustrator Maurice Sendak, collaborated on PNB's Nutcracker that premiered to national acclaim in December 1983. This stunning version of the time-honored classic has been dazzling audiences for 31 years and this year friends and family can experience it one more time.
